Mamava Monday: Mompreneur Amy Jackson

Have breast pump will travel: mama Amy Jackson shares her 3 must-haves for breastfeeding mamas on the go.
Amy Jackson, a mom with an active toddler and another boy on the way, tell stories about great brands (and the people that create them) that make life easier. Her creative outlet (and nap-time indulgence) is, where she shares stories about working moms and mompreneurs.

Amy's experience as a pumping mama who travels for work means she's learned a thing or two about balancing.

"I made it through one month of full-time pumping and part-time work, which I was fortunate to have as a transition period, followed by full-time work and part-time pumping," says Amy. Her first month back at work started with an awkward series of pumping sessions on an overnight business trip. Here's what she learned:

3 Must-Haves for Traveling Mamas

Spare Pump Parts

Pack clean, spare pump parts and a portable battery pack for rushed airport mother’s lounges. And ask for lactation accommodations wherever you go. That's how Amy met "the sweetest Alaska Airlines lounge attendant ever."

An Incognito Cooler

Incognito coolers look like another tote bag, but double as coolers. Amy uses one to carry that precious cargo through TSA and all the way home.

A Poncho

A versatile poncho can keep you warm on the plane and also provide coverage when and where you'd like it.  Amy dubs her poncho the "pumping mama’s wardrobe hack!"

Parting advice? Leave yourself extra when possible. Amy had to run back to her hotel room to pump in between meetings and networking events. "That made me late to everything."
