How to Fund a Mamava Pod

A Mamava Pod in pieces like a puzzle coming together

You need a lactation space and a freestanding Mamava pod is the perfect fit for your needs. Now you just need to find the funds. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Schools, nonprofits, and other organizations are financially stretched thin, but must comply with legal mandates requiring lactation accommodations. And they also want to support breastfeeding people. Many of our customers have come up with creative ways to fund a Mamava pod. To support your efforts, we’d like to share them with you.

Federal + State Grants

Grant resources change frequently, but they are always a smart place to start:

Breastfeeding Coalitions

Breastfeeding coalitions are often the first to know of grants that support maternal and infant health initiatives. The North Dakota Department of Health worked with their state breastfeeding coalition to fund lactation pods in public places around the state. Find your local coalition at the United States Breastfeeding Committee’s coalition directory

Insurance Companies + Healthcare Networks

Sponsoring a pod is a powerful way for local health insurance providers and healthcare networks to directly support breastfeeding parents and help improve health outcomes. UC Health supported breastfeeding in their community by sponsoring Mamava pods in Denver arenas. Explore local sponsorship opportunities for a Mamava pod in your city and state.
