Happy Birthday, Mamava!

Wow. We can hardly believe it has been a year since the first installation of a Mamava Lactation Station in Burlington International Airport. Since that beautiful day we have connected with countless mamas, employers, facilities, and policy makers who are helping us achieve our vision of a private, clean, safe, comfortable place to pump/nurse anywhere a woman may need it.  There are now Mamava units in (or on there way to) office spaces, convention centers, distribution sites, retailers, factories, and college campuses. The constant flow of positive feedback and interest has been overwhelming, and has inspired us to keep going during some of the darker hours of entrepreneurial life. Here’s one recent message.

““I just came across your product in Working Mother Magazine and I want to say “Thank You” for coming up with such an amazing idea! I am the mother of 3 and I nursed/pumped with all of my children until they were 2yrs old. By the time my 3rd child came along I had taken a new job that required more air travel. An airport is not always a convenient location for pumping moms. I have had layovers in airports with no outlets in the bathroom or no family bathrooms. The worst was when I had to pump on an empty aircraft bathroom while it was being cleaned for its next flight! Not exactly a relaxing spot to pump. I may be finished having babies but I am glad to hear that working moms in the future have a great option in your pumping/nursing stations. Great Job!!!!””
